Lets put this into perspective because we were doing our absolute best to wreck the fuel economy figure. The accelerator pedal was getting a work out and our Camry was being treated like a rally car going around the mountain (with complete respect for the road rules, of course). As much as we love diesels, it’s fair to say that no diesel mid-size vehicle we can think of would’ve returned a fuel economy figure that impressive under the same conditions.
