The wagon will be offered with a new a 1.7-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine rated at 130 horsepower. It will come with standard start-stop technology, which helps it emit just 119 grams of CO2 per kilometer. Buyers will also be able to choose from the usual palette of 1.6 and 1.8-liter gasoline four-cylinder gas and diesel engines found in the European Cruze. The 1.7-liter turbodiesel is expected to form the basis for a new diesel powertrain bound for North America for the 2013 model year.
